We are the children of God. That is the truest, most important thing about us. That’s the bedrock on which we can stand, surrounded by the embrace of a Heavenly Father who knows us, loves us, and accompanies us through the ups and downs. Before we belong to anyone or anywhere else, or even if we feel we have nowhere to belong, we belong to a Father whose providence surrounds us and whose tender gaze never leaves us. That’s our home. So when you're feeling lost, disconnected, out-of-sorts, or anxious, ask yourself: “Where am I standing? Where’s my heart? Am I standing within the embrace of God, or am I standing somewhere else?"
